For more than ten years, Pounamu has been learning what bamboo can really do.

From bamboo selection and treatment to design, engineering, craftsmanship and construction, our experience has grown through real work in the workshop, on site and with communities.

At our workshop in Shan State, bamboo is prepared, treated and fabricated before becoming part of a building. This hands-on process supports better quality, more consistent construction and the craftsmanship behind Pounamu’s work.

Myanmar has a rich bamboo tradition and valuable bamboo resources. Pounamu works to connect that heritage with better bamboo treatment, engineering, craftsmanship and contemporary bamboo architecture.
